Regular dental visits are essential for clean, healthy smiles, and that goes for your child too! Our pediatric dentists and team need to see your child for routine care to maintain good oral health and to locate or address any potential problems early. During your child's checkup, we will:
- Gently clean their teeth to remove plaque and tartar and help prevent cavities, infections and gum disease.
- Floss between each of their teeth to remove food particles and plaque your child could not reach by brushing alone.
- Examine their smile for any health issues, which may include taking dental X-rays when needed.
We will talk with you about any treatment recommendations we may have or ways you can improve your child's home care routine. You should always feel comfortable talking with our team about any questions or concerns you may have.
To keep your child's smile healthy, you should bring them in for a visit with our pediatric dentists every six months, although, depending on your child's oral health, we may recommend more frequent visits.
